Brad vs Hugo. #COYS

There has been plenty of speculation about how and when Lloris will be introduced to the team.

The answer is pretty simple. AVB will asses him in training and if the gulf in class is obvious between him and Brad then he will be thrown straight in if not then he will be introduced slowly bulking up and becoming accustomed to the pace of the game in England.
We are not West Ham, we haven’t just signed a £35million striker for nothing and we do not have an emergency in goal either.
Lloris is the signing that should have been made last year but First aid Harry took the easy route and obvious route that came good. There is no denying how much stability Brad brought to us last year. What he lacks in youth he brings in experience and passion.
But all good things must come to an end and the bench is looming for Brad almost certainly not this week but I would expect before January.
What does this mean for Gomes? Well if he thought he was going to get a fair crack of the whip he was either wrong or hasn’t shown enough in training to warrant being in the squad at all.
Poor bloke he came to us being Brazil’s no1 and will probably leave to some Russian club for a loan like David Bentley.
I honestly feel for him. If crosses weren’t allowed He would be a decent keeper but his mad streak has lost him everything.
Having ayed in goal quiet a bit as a kid I cant see why his judgment is so bad but I guess each decision is made in the blink of an eye so even if he has been told to stay on his line unless he is certain that he will get the ball he probably just gets an urge and goes for it.

So why have we paid nearly £10 million for a goalie to sit on the bench?
Well simply he is class. As a shot stopper he is brilliant but what you won’t see on YouTube is he reads the game very well and will almost be a sweeper for the defence. You will see him collecting a lot of crosses not punching too many although he is small for a keeper he barks like a Rottweiler at his defence all the time and having a predominantly French back line will help him settle. I’ve said this before now but still my only worry is his build. If you look around at all the best goalkeepers that have been around the epl for the last couple years they have all been brought in and spent some time on the bench at a big club made some mistakes then either moved on or spent some more time on the bench before settling. I’m thinking in particular Freidel, Howard, Given, Hart the only exception is Cech who I think had a pretty awful season last year but up until then was annoyingly brilliant.
Getting back to the point… Lloris is a champions league keeper and his winning mentality is good to have at the club. Someone who has as many French leagues as he has is never going to be a bad signing but when AVB says for the future he means once he has proven he is the best keeper at the club he will be bloody hard to shift.
