its simply still not enough. £35mill for what will be one of the top five midfielders in the world when he reaches his peak. yes people i still believe we have more to come from little Moddle. he is yet to add goals to his game which in the next year or two i think he will do. with VdV set to stay we will have to do some adapting in midfield to truly get the best out of both players but nothing is beyond the realm….
but i do wonder who is actually benefiting from this ? are the players benefiting being carted half way across the world to have a sporting holiday. are the club benefiting from exposure to Africa humiliating exposure. everyone else goes on tour and demolishes clubs to show how much better the EPL is than there local league. why does nobody go on tour to south america?
Because nobody is actually sure they could beat let alone pummel clubs like corinthians.
so why are we doing it?
i would rather Arry Levy and all the backroom staff were sat in a boardroom locked and guarded by arm guards. players may come in but nobody shall leave till we have a squad worthy of UCL
Vatican style they would send out a smoke signal for every tens of million they had spent on players.
until then can the sun shut up about Modric the Mail fudge off about Scott Parker and everyone else can keep sctum as well!
Arry i have faith but if you aint spent £50mill by the end of the window and shifted 6 players off that bench we shall be coming to blows mate!
The boredom of this transfer window has thoroughly set in. Will modric go won’t he?
At the moment i don’t care as the only thing that is important is who is coming in. Spurs seem to have forgot the reason we didn’t start to challenge for the title last year.
We did not improve the level of our squad.
Now its all well and good having a 30 man squad but it the bench is not as strong as the team on the pitch then there is no point using them which is why we ended up with people like BAE playing injured modric playing 50 odd games and palacsios playing ten…
If you look down the apearence list of your average big club even the massive players don’t play more than 35 games a season.
You have all heard the saying you are only as strong as your weakest link, in football it is a little more complicated.
You need your weaker players to be hungry to play games and looking along that bench there are one to many players with 30k ear rings and rolex watches.
This is why we need to release them as they will be more than confident to find a new club and simply getting 50k a week jenas off our books would pay for modric’s inevitable pay rise.
Look down that bench.
Wilson palascios
Jermaine Jenas
David Bentley
Giovanni Dos Santos
Robbie Keane
Carlo Cudicini
Niko Krankjar
Roman Pav
Steven Pienaar
Alan Hutton
All of these players are not first team players i think most would agree. Until we replace these players with young hungry alternatives we will never be on the level the big four are….
